Hello I’m Phil Knapp

I’m a Northern Wisconsin-based Photographer living in Iron River that enjoys exploring his beautiful surroundings, hiking, kayaking, and sharing the beauty of nature that surrounds me…. and hopefully inspiring others along the way. I was introduced to film photography in High School and have carried that interest throughout my life, eventually transitioning to a digital format.

My enjoyment of photographic expression is rooted in a lifetime of creativity, and environmentally minded awareness, and concern with the fragility of the natural world. I eventually received a degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in Resource Management.

Ultimately, I am inspired by color, symmetry, texture, and shades of light that compliment, and enhance the subject. I also enjoy conveying a story or mood to enhance the viewers experience.

I am quite proud to say my work has been nominated for and won multiple awards, along with having several images published.
